1. Unpack

For unpacking the download we recommend to use 7zip since many users had problems with other unpackers (including the built-in windows function).

- vvvv
Extract the vvvv directory from the .zip archive to a nice place on your harddisk.

- addons
Extract its .zip into your vvvv directory so that the \addonpack directory is placed right next to the \girlpower directory.

Want to run vvvv on your mac? Here is a collection of some
Best practices with Bootcamp.

2. Run setup.exe

Run setup.exe. This will ask you for administrative rights which you'll have to accept.

If it doesn't ask you, you'll have to run setup.exe as administrator manually by rightclicking on it and selecting "Run as..."

If all lights are green then everything is ok, just close setup and run vvvv.exe.

If you see any red light you are missing some dependencies and will have to install them by following the according links.

Windows restart may be needed after installing dependencies.

3. Start vvvv.exe

After starting vvvv.exe you might be confronted with the Window's SmartScreen. Click there More info and then Run anyway.

Now vvvv will start.
See the gray window?
Welcome. Everything is fine.

To turn off the Window's SmartScreen altogether navigate to Start > Settings > Privacy > General.

Encounter any troubles with running vvvv? See the Troubleshooting page.

Before deleting the directory containing vvvv run setup.exe again and click 'Uninstall'.

joreg: i'm not exactly sure what "old problem" you're talking about. have you tested if it still exists?

Xini: tx @joreg . Do you think it's better for me to install a 32bit version of vvvv, or is there another workaround for that old problem?
